Explore Kefalonia

Kefalonia is only about 300 sq. miles (777 sq. km) and the road network is sufficient enough that a trip from top to bottom rarely takes much more than 2 hours. Many people are drawn to the long beaches and crystal blue waters that dominate the scenery of Kefalonia, but there is so much more to see and do:

  • Assos
  • Myrtos beach
  • Fiskardo
  • Skala Beach
  • Argostoli
  • Melissani Lake
  • Lassi Beaches
  • Kastro

Kefalonia has a rich history dating back as far as the Roman Empire and there are examples of the rule of different civilizations to be found all over the island, including castles and villages dating back to the 1500’s.

First time and return visitors alike can’t help but be wowed by the scenery; lush green valleys of grapevines, cypress and olive trees that blend effortlessly with a rough rocky terrain. The climate is very hot and quite humid, especially in July & August, but there are plenty of hiking trails so you can get out and see more of the island on foot.

Just like the rest of Greece, Kefalonia has a rich café culture and a dish for every palette – you’re never too far from a café, bar or taverna so get out there and find your favourites.

You may have planned your itinerary before you travelled, or perhaps you are prepared to take a more relaxed approach to your sightseeing. Whatever your plans, we hope we can make your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
